Be a Couch Potato in Your Own Private Spud
If you've ever wondered what it might be like to sleep inside a giant steel potato; now's your chance. Just imagine that warm feeling of cutting open your freshly-baked potato and slathering a pat of butter and plenty of sour cream. Get the same feeling by staying in this cozy Airbnb that's shaped like a huge potato.
For $124 a night you and your partner can stay in this giant steel potato that's been converted into a cozy bedroom and seating area. It's fully air-conditioned in the summer months and comes equipped with a mini-fridge and electrical outlets for your phone and tablets.
This potato started its life back in 2012 as part of the celebration for the Idaho Potato Commission's 75th anniversary. According to IdahoPotato.com, the giant spud is a 6-ton creation made of steel, plaster, and concrete. The 28-foot long, 12-foot wide, and 11.5-foot tall potato traveled across the country for about seven years before it came to rest outside of Boise, Idaho.
That's when Kristie Wolfe, a former member of the Big Idaho® Potato Truck Tour team and tiny house builder did her magic and turned the potato into a hotel. Take a look inside this extra-unique space. You'll find the bedroom and sitting area inside the potato; you'll have to go into the custom-made silo to use the bathroom and soak in the whirlpool.
The property even comes with the cutest cow who's happy to let you pet it.
