Who Knew Giraffes Could Paint-One of a Kind Art Show Comes to Niabi Zoo
I'd like to think my animals are talented. Sarge, my husky, can almost say "I love you" in that husky howl. Sid, my puggle, makes super abstract illustrations on the wall of my deck out back. And our chickens draw in the dirt with their feet all day long.
So, yeah, I'm familiar with artistic animals...but I've never considered actually making art with our pets.
Niabi Zoo has announced their 4th Annual Animal Art Show and Sale, which will run on weekends throughout September!
The shows will be held on the 10th, 11th, 17th, 18th, 24th, and 25th of September (weather permitting), in their big white tent in front of the gibbon habitat from 10 am to 4 pm each day.
This year, we're thrilled to debut some exceptional pieces of art from new animal artists including our Ostrich, Fennec Fox family, and our Amur Leopard family (yes, Iona and her two cubs are first-time animal artists!).
We will also have amazing art from a whole host of other animals including some of our most popular artists, such as Twiga Giraffe, Kito Rhino, and Monique Sloth. In addition, we'll have some 'special' pieces of art available via silent auction.
All proceeds go directly back to the animals in the form of enrichment, so by purchasing one-of-a-kind art you'll also be benefitting the wonderful animals of Niabi Zoo - that's a win, win!
You can purchase your tickets here!
And if your animal sees it hanging on your wall maybe they'll step up their game.
