A Missouri woman arrested last month on drug charges as well as weapon charges was found to have spent half a month hiding a gun in a body cavity.

The four-inch .22 caliber firearm was found Wednesday by employees at the Boone County Jail. It was found with the personal belongings of Amy Natasha Wilhite.

Wilhite was originally charged on February 14th with possession of methamphetamine, resisting arrest, unlawful possession of a firearm, and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Upon her arrival to the jail, police failed to locate the 4.6oz North American Arms revolver. A thorough pat down and a strip search were performed between her arrival and joining other detainees.

“An investigation immediately began, and probable cause was quickly developed to believe Wilhite was in possession of the firearm” according to the Boone County Sheriff’s Office.

The investigators believe she concealed the firearm in her vagina upon entering the prison before removing it and concealing it with her personal belongings.

Discovery of the firearm is leading to Wilhite being charged with another felony for allegedly introducing a weapon into a correctional facility.
