Pogo Stick Fight Results in Shooting of North Carolina Woman

Residents in the Stoney Glen Circle area of Winston-Salem, North Carolina were horrified on Wednesday afternoon when an altercation led to a woman being shot in the chest.

Police Called

Around 4 PM, police were called to the scene of the altercation and arrived to find the suspect still there but the victim had already been taken to the hospital.

Officers Interview Victim

Officers traveled to the hospital to interview the victim and through investigation discovered several people, including the victim and the suspect, were involved in a fight in the parking lot.

The Weapons

The altercation quickly escalated when the victim allegedly armed herself with a large metal pogo stick and attempted to attack the suspect who was reportedly carrying a handgun.

Fearing for their life, the suspect fired a single round that struck the victim in the chest.

No Charges

Fortunately, medical personnel attended to the victim's wound and no charges will be issued against the suspect due to the initial findings of the shooting investigation.

It remains unclear what sparked the fight in the first place but local authorities are continuing their investigations. Residents in the area have expressed their shock at the situation and reminded people to be mindful of escalating conflicts.
