WATCH: Davenport Central Performs in London New Year’s Day Parade
Davenport Central High School's Marching Blue Devils made a historic performance this weekend when they marched to represent the state of Iowa in the world's largest New Year's Day Parade in London.
The band was initially invited to perform at the 2021 New Year's Day Parade, but due to travel restrictions lingering from the effects of COVID lockdowns, they had to reschedule for this year.
Video shared on Facebook shows the band's performance in the exhibition area of the parade route, which featured around 500,000 spectators from around the world.
The group performed a selection from their 2022 performance, and then performed the school's fight song, Hail to The Red & Blue.
This morning (January 3rd), the band is on their way home, boarding the plane around 6am CST.

In their recent season, the band took their show, Stained Glass, on the road, performing at regional competitions including the Youth in Music Marching Band Championships, where they placed 5th overall.
