While you're busing making plans to BBQ & swim with your family...don't forget there are other options.  Something a little less bright, sunshiny, and joyous.  Perhaps a little more fun if you're into this sort of thing.

Wake Brewing has been known to host some killer shows at their brewing establishment. The one I went to was one of the first times Short Horn played.  It was outside in a tent and it was loud!  I loved every minute of it.

It's been a while since we've seen some live music so this Independence Day Weekend there will be many options.  One I would suggest, if you're into some heavy music is this show...or any show...at Wake Brewing in Rock Island.

This year they are "stoked" to present Red, White and Doom 2021. It's their return to outdoor live music at Wake. Saturday July 3rd and Sunday July 4th with music starting at 3pm both days.

This is where Wake Brewing gets their "Riff Infused" tag line from.  This line up is about to shake some kegs into submission.

Featuring live music from:

  • Immortal Bird
  • The Lions Daughter
  • Witch Den
  • Dryad
  • Pit Lord
  • Rad Enhancer
  • Postad
  • Morphine Dream
  • Xenospawn

This is FREE entertainment.  Anyone 21 and older are welcome and they'll have food trucks too!  Plus, live screen printing and tons of cold craft beer. Support Your Scene.

Independence Day weekend is going to get loud!  Red, White, & Doom at Wake Brewing in Rock Island

Museums Within Driving Distance of the Quad Cities

"There isn't a museum I won't go to. The stupider, the better."
Michaels' statement this morning sent us into a good hour of discussion about museums within driving distance of the Quad Cities. Our listening family has clued us in on little hole-in-the-wall museums we never even knew existed, and they're just a hop, skip and a jump away from us.
Here's our highlights.
