It's that time of year again! Living Lands & Waters are prepping around 100,000 tree saplings for distribution & planting!
Normally they have hundreds of local middle & high schoolers assist them- but, unfortunately, that is not possible this year. So, they need your help more than ever.
So, what does that mean...to "prep" saplings?  All it is, actually is taking one small bare-root sapling, rolling it in newspaper, dipping it in water, and plopping it in a small baggie.
Easy enough for all ages!
For the next month or so each day they're hosting their tree wrapping events in a spacious, vacant factory in East Moline, IL. They'll have four 2-hour events each day for volunteers. Each timeslot has a max capacity of 25 volunteers, so they can keep everyone spread out.
Of course, volunteers are also required to wear masks for the entire duration of the event.
