Vietnam Veteran To Be Buried Today With No Friends Or Family In Attendance

Calling all Veterans... we need you today!!!

This morning we received a message from one of our friends telling us that there's a Davenport Vietnam Era Veteran who's being laid to rest today at the Rock Island Arsenal and unfortunately he has no friends or family attending.

The Unaccompanied Veteran Burial for Ricky Duane Long (b. 9/23/1956) will be at 10:00 AM today at the Rock Island National Cemetery, and it would be really cool if we could get some people out there for him. The Vietnam Veterans of America will be rendering honors.

Mr. Long served in the Navy as a Seaman Apprentice from July of 1975 - February of 1977

If you've never seen a military funeral, I highly recommend it. It's quite stunning to see. I hope you can make it out and we can make Mr. Long's funeral something to remember.
