If you're going to commit a crime, it's best not to leave a breadtrail from the scene of the crime to your hiding spot, but two guys from Seattle learned that the hard way.

The Seattle area had its snowiest day in 50 years this weekend, with around 9 inches falling Saturday night.

About half an hour south in Tacoma, Deputies with the Pierce County Sheriff’s Department were called to a break-in.

When deputies arrived, they found a broken window on the door to a detached garage. At the base of the door, were two sets of fresh footprints that lead from the garage to a church parking lot nearby, where the footprints broke off from each other.

Following one set of footprints, officers found that they stopped at the front of a dumpster, where they found one suspect hiding inside under a piece of cardboard.

Both suspects were arrested and booked into the Pierce County Jail for second-degree burglary and obstructing an officer.
