Newark Liberty International Airport had what they believed to be a security threat in a traveler's bag when it went through the scanners. They thought the passenger was trying to smuggle a revolver past their checkpoint.

According to the TSA's Press Release, "This most unusual revolver was not designed to spin bullets, it was designed to spin toilet paper." The item in question was a realistic replica gun, created to hold toilet paper.

TSA does not allow travelers to bring real or replica firearms through any checkpoints, but they said he would've been better off putting it in a checked bag.

If you're traveling soon and have questions on what is permitted, the TSA recommends asking them via Twitter.
