Tony Alsup took on the mission to save "the leftovers" from Hurricane Florence. The 51-year-old trucker drove from Greenback, Tennessee to South Carolina to rescue pets.

“It’s so easy for people to adopt the small pets and the cuties and the cuddly,” Tony said to Greenville News. “We take on the ones that deserve a chance even though they are big and a little ugly. But I love big dogs, and we find places for them.”

The modern day Noah stopped at shelters in four different towns and ended up saving 53 dogs and 11 cats. The pets were taken to a shelter in Alabama and will be spread out across the country.
