The Boston Red Sox are one win away from winning the American League East. In anticipation of a victory, they had a banner made that they could unveil if they win. As the banner was being delivered to Fenway Park, it somehow fell off the truck.

Luckily, three friends were out on a coffee run and they found it laying in the road. Instead of just returning it, like any fan would, they decided to hold it hostage. Their demands: playoff tickets.

"We wanna give it back to them because it belongs to them, and it doesn't belong to us," one of the trio said. "But in reciprocation, we would like, you know, to maybe go to a nice playoff game or we're looking for something."

Well the Red Sox didn't negotiate with them and the company that made the banner accused the men of stealing the sign. They deny it of course.

"If I didn't pick it up, a hundred people would have ran over it," one of the guys said. "I don't want a million dollars... all I wanted was to maybe bring my family, my friends to [an effing] baseball game, maybe meet a player."

The banner was eventually returned in time for last night's game and the trio did not get anything in return. They had hoped their good gesture would bring luck to the team. It didn't, the Red Sox were destroyed by the Yankees 10-1.
