Jim Cornelison will be singing "The Star-Spangled Banner" before the Mallards game tonight. We spoke with him on the phone and discussed the impact his rendition has on people. He was quick to remind us that his performance is not about him.

While Jim is a phenomenal singer, he's right. The national anthem is not about him. It's about those who gave their lives to preserve the freedoms we enjoy everyday.

There's a video out there that you may have seen, it's of Virginia Tech's basketball coach Buzz Williams. In it he addresses his team while they are face-to-face with Veterans from all ages and deployments. To say the four minute clip will move you is an understatement.

So remember this when you're at any event that the anthem is sung or played at. It's not about you.
