Americans have been ordering a lot of takeout and delivery over the past few months. But what foods are we ordering the most?

Yelp just figured out what takeout and delivery food has been disproportionately popular in every state during the past two months. In other words, what people in each state have ordered way more than average.

And the results can basically be summarized in one word: Carbs. Although the specific type of carbs really varies across the board.

Some of the foods that were number one in more than one state are: Pizza, Burgers, Gyros, Sushi, Pad Thai, tacos, crab Rangoon, and wings.

Here are the most popular by state.

DID YOU KNOW⁉️ Fries actually originated from Belgium. American soldiers in WWI called these “French fries” because they thought they were in France when they got to try some delicious fries, but they were just in the French speaking part of Belgium. The fries are fried twice, no exceptions. The first dip into the oil cooks them (and then you can just leave it like that until you are ready to serve to do the second fry). The second dip into the oil makes it crispy AND instead of ketchup, MAYO is preferred! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Belgian Fries [4€ with sauce, 3.20€ without sauce] ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Fritland [Brussels, Belgium, Europe] #feedmemelanieeurope A post shared by YEG | EDMONTON FOOD | MELANIE (@feedmemelanie) on

Yesterday I made the trek to my old hood of #Dyckman. Throughout all of this weirdness I wanted a sense of home, comfort and familiarity. Since breaking into my old apartment on Post Ave woulda lead to several problematic situations, I thought maybe getting pizza from @johnnys_dyckman_pizza might do the trick   A post shared by Em #TheHungryDominican (@thehungrydominican) on
