For the first time in Pasadena Fire Department history, the engine crew on duty at Station 34 was all females.

On Tuesday, the all-women crew was under command of Capt. Tricia Rodriguez.

The crew posted a photo to Facebook to announce the momentous occasion.

The four women said they found out the night before their shift that they would all be working together on the same shift.

Pasadena Fire Department said the staffing isn't going to be a permanent deal, and won't likely happen often. The schedules happened to align Tuesday because of vacations and overtime within the department.

The City of Pasadena has 8 female firefighters working in their departments, all at varying levels of command.
