A fresh tree brings with it fuller branches and a nice scent, but it brings something worse as well.

According to pest control company, live trees could be carrying 25,000 bugs on average. Those include: aphids, spiders, mites, adelgids, sawflies, bark beetles and even praying mantises.

Don't worry too much though, this doesn't mean your house will be suddenly be infested with the pests. Most if not all of the bugs will stay on the tree they came in with.

Experts suggest shaking the tree vigorously before bringing it indoors. Also leave it in the garage for a few days and use some sort of insecticide on the tree.
