THAW BRAWL Race Weekend At Davenport Speedway Cancelled
The event that was supposed to mark the start of the racing season at Davenport Speedway has been cancelled.
Mar's Racing Series' THAW BRAWL has been cancelled because of all of the rain the area has seen this week. The track's crew worked the hardest they could to prepare the track for the rain, but at some point, it turns from a dirt track race to a mudding race.
The event was supposed to take place this weekend, March 25th and 26th.
Mars Racing Series published a press release, where they said they "have looked at options for a possible make-up date but there is nothing available that works."
"The Mars Racing Series would like to thank everyone who supported the 2022 Thaw Brawl including our great sponsors like Hoker Trucking," the press release said. "We look forward to being back here at the Davenport Speedway on July 26th for the Hoker 50."
As far as the $30,000 worth of prize money that was up for grabs, it will be used in part of a race later in the season.
"On May 13th the series will take to the high banks of the Farmer City Raceway for the Farmer City 74 paying $15,000 to win and on May 14th at Fairbury Speedway with the $30,000 to win Spring Nationals," they said.
The next race on the schedule for Davenport Speedway is the kickoff of their weekly races, on April 22nd.
