Teen Made Up Story About Abduction to Avoid Going to School
A student who reported an attempted abduction Friday morning has admitted to making the entire incident up, so she didn't have to go to school.
The Ohio teen told police she was abducted while waiting at her bus stop on Five Points Pike in Monroe Township. She told officers she was able to escape and provided deputies with a description of a suspect.
Pickaway County Sheriff's Office said detectives later interviewed the high school student with her mother present, and she retracted the story.
"Our biggest concern was in this situation we were already seeing things on social media," Radcliff said. "People were going to the bus stop with guns trying to protect their children. They were looking for a black vehicle - someone that matched that description - and you know unfortunately the wrong person could've came along and been injured over something like this."
Potential charges are under review by the prosecutor's office.
