Tanker Truck Filled With Nearly 9,000 Gallons of Gasoline Overturns and Explodes
One person was killed in Atwater, California after the tanker truck he was driving overturned and exploded. The truck was filled with 8,600 gallons of fuel at the time.
Highway patrol investigators believe the tanker was traveling too fast when exiting the highway, hit a concrete divider, and spilled out it's contents which then ignited. All this happened just a quarter of a mile away from the trucks destination.
No other injuries have been reported, but 200 people had to be evacuated from the area. One caught the blaze on video:
