Survey Says: Diners Want Restaurants to Get Rid of Tipping
Zagat has released their 2018 National Dining Trends Survey and figures are showing that people want the days of tipping servers to come to an end.
43% of the people surveyed showed support for restaurants to do away with tipping. Higher menu prices would counteract the gratuities.
That being said, 33% of those surveyed said that they hate the idea, mainly people in the South. The survey also found that diners leave an average of 18.1% of the bill for a tip.
