More Storms Expected Tonight in the Quad Cities
A First Alert Day has been issued for the Quad Cities, including Davenport and nearby areas, due to strong storms that could move in tonight between 7 PM and 3 AM.
Quick Forecast:
- Today: Warm and breezy, high near 81°
- Tonight: Thunderstorms, low around 59°
- Tomorrow: Morning showers, high near 70°
Warm and Windy Start to the Day
The day will start off warm and a little windy, with temperatures reaching the upper 70s to low 80s. Most of the day should stay dry, but a few small storms could pop up later in the afternoon, mainly northwest of the Quad Cities. These early storms might bring small hail, strong wind gusts, and even a quick tornado.
Stronger Storms Arrive Tonight
The biggest round of storms is expected later tonight. A line of storms will move across Iowa and into the western parts of the Quad Cities around 10–11 PM. As the storms move east, they will slowly weaken, but they could still bring strong winds before midnight.
Rain and What Happens Next
Most areas will get about a half inch of rain, but some spots could see over an inch if storms hit the same place more than once. After midnight, the storms should calm down, turning into light rain by early Friday morning.
Looking Ahead
The weekend looks much nicer, with dry weather and temperatures in the 60s and 70s. More rain could return by Monday.
