Fax Machine
Michaels HAD to fax some documents to a bank - where do you go?
We heard doctors office, a Kinkos, libraries, truck stops, and even a mortuary.
There's also an app for that.
Getting Heroes Home
Dwyer got a call yesterday asking for some help from an elderly woman looking for a group to help get her active-duty grandson home from overseas for Christmas. He has the leave, just not the financial ability to come home.
Luckily, there's a group based right here in the Quad Cities who specializes in emergency travel for active duty military.
It's called Getting Heroes Home.
They do what they can to cover the cost of travel for those serving overseas for funerals, births, and even the holiday season.
I AM disABLEd
Sunday, December 14, 2025, join WQPT PBS at 8:00 p.m. for their premier airing of I AM disABLEd, a heartwarming documentary that highlights the challenges and triumphs of students with disabilities, and their families, by following the journey of nine youths as they stage the musical Seussical. As these young artists take center stage, the spotlight shines on their abilities and similarities to all of us. I AM disABLEd seeks to ignite thoughtful conversations about inclusion, action, and what it means to destigmatize disabilities.
This film was produced by Fresh Films in Rock Island, IL, utilizing an inclusive production process that combined the talents of 14 budding filmmakers. The crew filmed the documentary over 12 months meeting with the artists and their families. Kelli Feigley, Founder and Managing Director of Fresh Films, shared, “This film is a testament to the power of inclusive storytelling. It not only highlights the brilliance and creativity of the young people on stage, but also the voices behind the scenes helping bring their stories to life.”
If you can't get the channel, you can stream it live on the WQPT website.
