Downing Family Fundraiser

Brooks, the 2-year-old son of a Davenport Fire Fighter, was first diagnosed with cancer this past spring. Despite surgery and treatment, the cancer has since spread throughout his brain and spine.

Sadly, there is no cure. As his parents prepare for the unthinkable, they are also burdened with mounting medical
expenses.

There's a special event to raise funding to cover all the medical bills so they can focus on what really matters at this time.

It's a special golf outing at Iron Tee on October 25th from 11am to 3pm. 25% of proceeds from the event go to the Downings.

There's a longest drive contest, silent auctions, raffles, and closest to the pin competition. If you can't make the 25th, they're continuing the 25% deal from October 26th-November 9th, if you mention Downing Fundraiser.

There's also a GoFundMe.

Cubs Lose

The Cubs fell to the Brewers over the weekend, a 3-1 final on Saturday night, knocking the Cubs out.

Hawkeyes Win

Hawkeyes put a WHOOPIN' on Wisconsin this weekend, beating Wisconsin 37-ZERO. It was the first time since 1929.

St. Peter's Basilica

A guy hopped up onto the Altar of the Confession in front of worshippers and tourists at St Peter's Basilica, dropped his pants to his knees and peed all over the place.

In Journey News...

Neal Schon posted on X last night that Jonathan Cain announced his time with the band is coming to an end - at 1:56am.

Cain has said he'll be done after the 2026 tour, not like, tomorrow.

Helicopter Crash

At an event called "Cars N' Copters" at Huntington Beach, a helicopter crashed, injuring 5 people - three of whom were just on the ground. The tail of the aircraft broke off in the crash, with the rest of the helicopter landing wedged between the staircase and palm trees.

Something broke loose, and you can see the tail rotor fly off and hit the ground.

In this angle, you can see the engine is still running while the fire department is spraying it down.

Look right here - you can see the riser that the blades would normally be attached to still spinning.

Sharks vs Vegas

Somehow, the Sharks were up on the Golden Knights by one with just a minute and a half to go.

First, the Sharks failed to score the empty net after Vegas pulled their goalie, and Vegas brought it back to the Shark's zone. Jack Eichel tossed it on net just to get it in the zone, and Nedeljkovic missed it.

That tied the game up, sent it to overtime.

During overtime, for some unknown reason, Nedeljkovic then came all the way to the blue line to try and get it out of the zone - then missed while a Vegas player passed it down to Reilly Smith, who just tapped it into an open net.

Illini Punter

Did you see the punter who got a bad snap from his center? It came in too low, and when he went low to catch it, he touched his knee to the ground - which meant the ball was down.

Mark Sanchez

Mark Sanchez was released from the hospital this weekend, and talked to the news before turning himself in to the jail.

Savannah Bananas

The Savannah Bananas are coming to Iowa City to play at Kinnick Stadium on July 3rd and July 4th, 2026.
