Billy & Me
A new feature film coming out called Billy & Me told through the eyes of Irwin Mazur, his manager. The thing is, the film company has obtained the life rights to Mazur to create the story, but they couldn't get Billy Joel or licensing to his music publishing. They did get Joel’s longtime friend, drummer and video director Jon Small's life rights.
Billy Joel has already had a statement issued by his reps, saying “Since 2021, the parties involved have been officially notified that they do not possess Billy Joel’s life rights and will not be able to secure the music rights required for this project. Billy Joel has not authorized or supported this project in any capacity, and any attempt to move forward without it would be both legally and professionally misguided.”
The film will go through the Billy Joel's pre-Billy Joel days; his time with Atilla, and it sounds like everything up to Piano Man.
Their point is, the story's already been told through Billy Joel: And So It Goes on HBO.
The relationship between Joel and Liberty DeVitto, his former drummer, was detailed in the film Hired Gun about the hired musicians who play alongside the most iconic musicians.

AI Fail
A college graduation tried to use an AI reader to read the names of the graduates, but it wasn't working, kept skipping students' names, reading out of order, and was beginning to frustrate the families and students.
You can hear their frustration when one of the staff members adressed the issue and was met with a wall of booing.
