Rodeo Bull Escapes, Runs Into Stands At Florida Fair
A terrifying moment was caught on camera when a bull broke free at a rodeo at the Florida State Fairgrounds.
Christopher Thornton was at the Florida State Fairgrounds in Tampa and recorded the video of the animal escaping from its holding pen and running rampant, WTVT reported.
“Everyone was rushing, the parents were grabbing their kids,” Thornton told WTVT. “People were jumping over the chairs. The first thing in my head said to record it. I couldn’t believe this was happening at my first rodeo!”
The video shows the bull leaping over the railing, running into the crowd of screaming people trying to get to safety before the bull comes in their direction while men on horseback were chasing it trying to get it lassoed.
Throughout the bull's run, the announcer can be heard over the loudspeaker repeatedly saying "Stay calm, stay calm, stay calm, stay calm."
Eventually, someone caught up to the bull and got him lassoed, pulling him back with his horse.
“Everyone just started clapping,” Thornton told WTVT. “Honestly, if he wasn’t able to catch the bull, more chaos would’ve happened.”
Thornton told WFLA that with this much excitement at his first rodeo, it won't be his last.
No injuries came from the scary event. The rodeo's organizers declined to comment.
