2nd annual Hero Run and Rib Fest Raises Money for a Great Cause
This Saturday, October 8, 2022, in Geneseo, IL it's the 2nd annual Hero Run and Rib Fest all for a great cause.
New This Year...Rib Fest
Sign-up will be at Geneseo Brewing Co and is $50 per team. 1st place will receive a trophy & $100. 2nd place will receive a trophy & $50. But we all win when there are ribs involved.
RACE DAY!
There are a couple of races happening. First, the Kid's Mission Mile will begin at 9:45 am after The National Anthem.
Then the Hero Run 5k will begin at 10:30 am. A drink from Geneseo Brewing Co will be provided after the race with a drink ticket!
Beer Relay Run
New this year is the Beer Relay Run! Get your team of 4 together and get ready for this relay event which involves drinking a beer before running each 1/4 mile for one mile total.
Bags Tournament
Teams of 2 will play a double elimination beginning at 12:30pm with a 50% payout to the charity and Top 3 teams being paid out.

Full Schedule of Events
- 8am: The Rib Cook off begins
- 9:45am: Kid's Mission Mile
- 10:30am: Hero Run 5K
- 12:30pm: Bags Tournament
- 1pm: Chicken judging
- 2pm: Rib judging
- 4pm: Beer Relay Run
- 5pm: After Party
Live Music
Multiple kids activities will be available for a full day of fun, and an after-party with live music will take place after the Beer Run at Geneseo Brewing Co.. Shaun Easton is playing a solo set during the event from 1:00 until 4:00 so check him out!
