Remember Last Time Journey’s Frontman Played The QC, With His Fly Open?
Journey just announced they're headed out on a new tour, and one of the stops includes the Vibrant Arena at The Mark, right here in the Quad Cities, and it reminded me of their show in 2017, when something pretty funny happened that involved lead singer Arnel Pineda and the fly to his pants.
Journey's Freedom Tour will be making a stop at the Vibrant Arena at The Mark in Moline on Tuesday, March 21st, 2023, with special guest Toto.
Journey had their biggest commercial success between 1978 and 1987, pumping out some of rock's anthems like 1981's Don't Stop Believin', which you and everyone else in the world knows every word to. Tickets to this show are available through TicketMaster, the Vibrant Arena box office, and if you listen to the Dwyer & Michaels Morning Show, you have the chance to win tickets before you can buy!
Back in 2017 when Journey came through the Quad Cities, they played every hit under the sun.
It was just into the start of the show when I noticed that nobody told Arnell Pineda - "Hey man, XYZPDQ." He was out on stage with his fly wide open. Luckily for us, he was wearing underwear for this show.
Don't get me wrong, the show was great and we had a blast. It was one of those concerts where you knew every song played. But... yeah, that fly is open.
Is he wearing some boxers, or are those tidy whiteys?
Oof. That thing is right in front of the camera on the big screen. Nobody in their crew noticed?
I swear his underwear is trying to escape out of those skinny jeans.
Listener Sharon got a really good shot:
So, be sure you head to Journey, because hey, you never know what you could miss.
