Thrillist just released a list of all 50 states ranked by their food. They say it's based on each state's specialties and the quality of their restaurant scene.

But, the rankings are based on three guys' opinions, not any data or numbers. So keep in mind this is all subjective, and also probably a little shaky, since it's hard to imagine they've really explored everything, say, Iowa has to offer.

Their picks for the 10 states with the best food are:

  1. California
  2. Texas
  3. New York
  4. Louisiana
  5. Tennessee
  6. Oregon
  7. Illinois
  8. Washington
  9. Pennsylvania
  10. North Carolina

They claim Chicago carries Illinois with deep dish pizza and cite the southern part of the state with having a good barbecue scene.

Their 10 states with the worst food are:

  1. West Virginia
  2. North Dakota
  3. Nebraska
  4. Delaware
  5. New Hampshire
  6. Iowa
  7. Utah
  8. Wyoming
  9. South Dakota
  10. Idaho

These guys must have stock in some BBQ-based company, because they complain that Iowa has a weak barbecue culture regardless of being the largest pork producer. They even complain that pork tenderloin sandwiches have an "out-of-wack" meat-to-bun ratio.
