April 16th at the Taxslayer Center, the Quad City Steamwheelers are honoring their team past while taking on the Frisco Fighters.

Saturday's game is being referred to as "Champions Night" as the Steamwheelers will honor the Teams Championship past along with the man who invented the game of Arena Football.

30+ players and coaches from the back-to-back AF2 Champions will be in attendance signing autographs and interacting with fans.

Jim Foster, the former Steamwheelers owner and Arena Football inventor was recently featured in the Hollywood film "American Underdog" which was about the life of NFL Hall of Fame quarterback and former Iowa Barnstormer of the Arena Football League, Kurt Warner. Foster will be honored Saturday evening as a banner in his name will be hung from the rafters of the TaxSlayer Center.

Current Steamwheelers owner Doug Bland said, "We are excited to honor the back-to-back AF2 champions as well as Jim Foster during our Champions Night promotion. We had this event scheduled for 2020 (20-year anniversary) of the Steamwheelers Championships, but it was canceled due to COVID-19. "We would not be here today playing the game our fans love if it wasn't for Jim Foster who invented this amazing sport."

The first 3,000 fans through the gates will receive a free collectible poster featuring both the current Steamwheelers and the Championship Team. The kickoff is at 7:20 PM!

Steamwheeler tickets start at $12.50 and are available for purchase at  www.steamwheelersfootball.com, on www.TicketMaster.com or at the TaxSlayer Box Office, open from 10AM to 5PM Monday through Friday.
