QC Rock Academy Kids Get Yet ANOTHER Great Meet & Greet

I never thought I'd be so jealous of so many kids.

The QC Rock Academy has such an amazing program. From individual lessons to full on literal "rock band class"...they really have something no one else has. If you've ever been to a "Battle of the Bands" you can see fully grown adult musicians jealous of the size of crowd they get to play in front of and the response that audience gives them.

It's not fair, really.

Plus, they get incredible opportunities like meeting rock stars like Heart, Kiss, 3 Doors Down, Cheap Trick and Alice in Chains. They got to go on stage with the Beach Boys.

To say I wish I had this sort of experience when I was younger is an understatement. I wish I could have this sort of experience today!

Did you see the QC Rock Academy's big announcement? Tomorrow...Tuesday, February 22nd at 5:00pm, not one...not two... but members of three of rocks biggest bands will be at the QC Rock Academy to hang, meet and do a Q&A with QCRA students.

They will be talking about their careers, touring and chatting with students for around an hour.

Here's the deal. Space is limited to 25 students. Current QCRA students only.

So you may want to consider pushing little Timmy a little harder about joining so they can have this opportunity the next time this sort of thing happens. Because it seems like this happens all the time with QCRA.

The guys are in town thanks to Jose Urquiza from 3 Years Hollow and Attic Recording fame. They are doing an Instamix Live where they'll be writing and recording and you can be apart of that without being a QCRA student.

Quad Cities Live Music Venues That Aren't Live Music Venues Anymore

Nostalgia Alert!.

We've compiled a quick list (by no means comprehensive) of venues in the Quad Cities that are no longer music venues but to us will ALWAYS hold a special place were we saw some great shows and made some incredible memories.

To many of us the live music scene wasn't just a concert here & there. It was an every weekend affair. And it didn't matter if it was a touring band or your buddy's band. We were going to be there with a beer in hand and scream along with guitars that were way too loud in a room that was improperly treated acoustically and make some bad decisions.

What The Quad Cities Did For Fun in the 90's

Many times over the years, I'll be talking with friends about years gone by and I'll say "take me back".

Every generation goes through this, I assume. Looking back at a more simple time where responsibilities haven't set in and life seems fun. Opportunities are endless.

Let's go back to the 1990's to Wacky Waters, 50 Cent Beer night and revisit Mallards Mania!
