After the Blue Angels and Thunderbirds announced their flight plans to salute healthcare workers, we noticed immediately that the Quad Cities, a metro area with almost 400,000 people, weren't on the list. That didn't seem right to us. So, we reached out to a few pilots to see if there was something that could be done. Not fighter jets, of course, but a local flyover to show appreciation to the people taking care of all of us during the pandemic.

We present to you, the Quad Cities Salute to Healthcare Workers.

Their plan is to take off from Davenport Municipal Airport (KDVN) Friday Morning, and fly over hospitals in DeWitt, Davenport, Rock Island, Moline, and Silvis. The three lead planes, two RV-8s and a Piper Dakota will deploy smoke while passing by each hospital. They will be followed by three additional planes in parade formation.

Keep an eye on the sky after 9 AM Friday to be sure you don't miss it. If you see them and get any pics make sure to use #QCflyover and we'll post your pics.
