What started off as a routine traffic stop became something much more concerning for highway patrol officers.

Across the pond in Australia in Westgate Highway Patrol were patrolling when they received a call about an unregistered vehicle nearby.

When they stopped the van, they found that a six year old was not only sitting unbuckled in the back seat, but that the back seats were two La-Z-Boy recliners.

The seats were held in by alloy blocks that fastened them down to the floor, but the modification to the vehicle is not legal, especially with a kid sitting there.

Three ticketable offenses were cited:

  • Unregistered vehicle
  • Unrestrained passenger
  • Breach in standards of registration.

If anything, he should've used them for the front seats. I never let my kids sit in my chair.
