Over The Edge For Big Brothers Big Sisters

On August 22nd dozens of people will be rappelling from the Hotel Blackhawk in support of Big Brothers Big Sisters at their OVER THE EDGE event.

This year you can form a team to help you raise needed funds! Your co-workers, a golf foursome, your book club, or just the crowd you go to happy hour with!

Why not form a family team and celebrate a life event like graduation, a milestone birthday or anniversary!

Saturday, August 22, 2020 between 9 AM – 5 PM at Hotel Blackhawk, 200 E. 3rd Street, Davenport you can rappel down 11 stories (140-ft.) down the north side of the building.  It's a super unique fundraiser that helps the community but also gives you a life-changing experience.

This is the Big Brothers Big Sisters 3rd annual event held to support and raise important funds for non-profits. Specifically to BBBS, this event has an enormous and immediate impact on one-to-one youth mentoring, providing key dollars to help BBBS grow and enhance their services and programs for children facing adversity in the Mississippi Valley.

The past two years, this event has raised more than $340,000!

Over the course of eight hours on two ropes, BBBS is sending a total of 100 people, called “Edgers”, Over the Edge. Some individual Edgers are raising money and others are representing companies, clubs or institutions who are fundraising together as a “Fearless Leader Team”.

We invite you to get involved, whether that’s by showing your courage and rappelling, volunteering for Event Day OR by making a donation to one of our brave Edgers. All of it matters and makes a difference as we work together to help all children see the potential within them – anything is possible when you Rise Above and believe You Can Do It!
