Old Governor’s, New Restaurant
A few months back Governor's in Moline closed it's doors. We were all sad to see it go. As Garth says in Wayne's World, "We fear change."
After some remodeling a new restaurant has opened it's doors in its place. Steel Plow Burger Company opened their doors today and we stopped over for lunch. They didn't disappoint.
Great looking bar with twelve beers on tap. Notice the guy at the end of the bar that spotted us taking pictures. Oops, sorry dude.
Did someone say grass fed beef? Heck yeah! Count me in!
Menu looks really good. Think it's time to order an appetizer.
Del's hand-crafted sweet battered chicken with maple syrup, honey garlic, and sweet & sassy sauce. Delicious!
We opted for the Build Your Own Burgers.
I had the prime rib burger with pepper jack cheese and a fried egg on a Kaiser roll. Sidewinder fries are my new favorite fries.
And my date had the prime rib burger with American cheese. Don't look Dwyer, there are pickles.
I have a feeling that this will become a new favorite spot. Afterall it's just like Garth said, "It's like a new pair of underwear: At first, it's constrictive, but after awhile it becomes a part of you."
Go try it out. They're at 2180 53rd St in Moline. Go like their page on facebook.
