Officers Seize 3,000 Pounds of Marijuana Hidden in Broccoli Shipment
Over the weekend, the U.S. Customs and Border Protection confiscated a significant amount of marijuana. The drugs are valued at $632,000, and all of it was hidden in a shipment of broccoli.
Officials said the CBP sent a shipment of broccoli coming over the Hidalgo-Reynosa International Bridge to be further examined before it came into the country.
Turned out, they found tiny green trees weren't the same as the tiny green trees on the manifest. 378 packages of marijuana which weighed out to be about 3,160 pounds.
CBP seized all the trailer, tractor, and all the drugs for further examination.
