I think it's pretty common for households to have a second fridge out in the garage, mostly for beer but I'm not judging. Depending on the age of the refrigerator, having it outside of your house might not be the best idea.

Newer high efficiency models have a chance of not working properly in locations that are not climate controlled. So if your garage goes from hot to cold back to hot fairly rapidly, don't be surprised if it craps out.

A guy in Colorado found this out the hard way. He had a four-month-old Kenmore refrigerator full of food just up and stop working. The freezer side had completely thawed out.

When Jeff Schubert called to have the free warranty repairs done, he was told that it wasn't covered. Having it outside of a climate controlled area is considered misuse.
