Naked Man Fights House Fire While Waiting For The Fire Department
In the middle of the night, when an emergency strikes, you don't have time to pick out an outfit or change clothes. You have to jump into action right away, and sometimes that means you're not dressed for the job.
Wesley Howard said he was sleeping in his bed just after midnight on July 5th, when his fiancé woke him up because the fence between their house and the neighbor's house was on fire.
"At that moment, every second matters," Howard said. "That fire could've taken off and we could've lost both homes. At that point, I don't care if someone sees me naked for a few seconds if that means saving two homes and two families. They have kids, we have kids."
Once the fire broke out enough for Wesley to have a second to get back inside and put some shorts on. He continued to fight the fire for about another 10 minutes until the fire department arrived.
Howard said that eight years in the Navy prepared him for that moment, and that he "wasn't thinking," just acting.
He did suffer some minor burns to his foot and forearm, but his home and the neighbor's home were spared.
