Miss Illinois County Fair Queen Relieved of Duties for Joining Army Reserves

You know how we like to support our military. With that being said this is kind of messed up. A change.org petition posted yesterday (October 31st) has received almost 600/1000 signatures in 14 hours.

The petition, titled "Don't penalize Alexi Bladel, Illinois County Fair Queen for serving her country" goes on to state that the Illinois Association of County Fairs board has removed the duties and crown of the Illinois Winnebago County Fair Queen. The reason they told her was that because she has joined the U.S. Army Reserves. She's currently in basic training.

A comment on the petition from Jaime Shorter reads "This is not right. 4H stands for so many things and we can't even support someone who is risking their lives to protect our very freedom. Wake up Illinois this is ridiculous."
