McDonald’s Is Giving Away Free Egg McMuffins Today

Monday's are the worst, there's no secret there. McDonald's is making the first Monday of March much more tolerable.

Today marks 50 years of the Egg McMuffin, and so today has been deemed "National Egg McMuffin Day" by the company, and to celebrate we all get a McMuffin.

The offer is good from 6 AM - 10:30 AM. You just have to order through the McDonald's app.

“While we’re giving the Egg McMuffin its moment, we’re really honoring our breakfast fans who have woken up with McDonald’s breakfast for nearly 50 years," David Tovar, Vice President of U.S. Communications says, "And we just thought, ‘hey, why not declare March 2 as National Egg McMuffin Day?"

The delicious sandwich was invented in early 1971 by Herb Peterson, the owner and operator of a McDonald's in Santa Barbara.
