Maquoketa Caves Named Most Beautiful Place in Iowa
The Maquoketa Caves received the high honor of being rated "Most Beautiful Place in Iowa" by Conde Nast Traveler.
The park, purchased in 1921, has around 300 acres of land, and is a travel point for people all over the state.
With dozens of trail systems, there's plenty of places to explore without even going in a cave.

Boardwalks and staircases take you through the larger cave systems, while you'll have to squeeze and crawl your way through smaller ones.
It's a beautiful place. Get out in nature.
