Here's our conversation with Dan Hill. The full story is below.

A man in Utah decided to sneak over to the gym for a late evening workout when he was accidentally locked in for the night.

"I am literally locked inside 24 Hour Fitness right now" Dan Hill posted to Facebook. "They closed the doors and went home while I was swimming my laps in the pool."

Dan told KTVX he was nervous to unlock the doors himself because he figured some kind of alarm was set, which he was afraid would set off an alarm or he would be implicated for a crime.

Hill said he called police dispatch, who were confused as well why he was locked inside a place called "24 Hour Fitness." They told him they would call him back.

When Dan relayed dispatch's message to his wife, she told him to find a comfortable place to sleep.

Dan said "I just thought it was kinda funny at the start. You know, it was kinda like 'Home Alone'. Like oh my gosh. I have this gym to myself."

19 minutes after his initial post, Dan Hill posted that he was let out.

The following Monday, management posted a sign to the door saying their operating hours were changed to 4am-12am.

24 Hour Fitness issued an apology to Dan, saying they clearly did not follow store close procedures, and that they changed hours because of the lack of use from midnight to 4am.
