Rock Island’s Own ‘Lissie’ Streams Christmas Concert Online
One of the only good things to come out of the pandemic was artists willingness to stream their concerts online. Over the past year we've mirrored our phones to our TV or plugged in the HDMI cranked up the big screen in the living room for a private show where the only a-hole disrupting the show with annoying behavior is our dogs asking to go outside.
Lissie is an amazing artist from here in the Quad Cities. Rock Island, specifically, and should be celebrated. Her bluesy, folksy, rock swagger has made her a favorite for people all over the world. So, when I saw she was streaming a Christmas concert I made plans immediately.
Unbeknownst to my family, I already had our Saturday night planned out:
- Step 1: Pizza
- Step 2: Game night
- Step 3: Streaming the Canadian Pacific Holiday Train concert
- Step 4: Close the night with Lissie live at The Parkway Theater in Minneapolis
The night was a success. We filled up on delicious pizza. I kicked the family's butt at Sorry, despite a lackluster start to the game. And the music was amazing.
Annoyingly, you do have to sign up for an account on the streaming site but from then you get to choose which price point you want to "donate" to gain "entry" into the show with the lowest amount being a super affordable $10. They accept PayPal so, there was no need to look up routing numbers and such.
Once you sign up & pay you're able to stream the concert anytime through Sunday, December 26th.
It's just Lissie and her pianist playing holiday classics and some of her own music which sounds amazing on piano with no guitar. I highly suggest checking out this special with the family this holiday.
