Last Remaining Part Of Wacky Waters Comes Tumbling Down

I feel like it's the end of an era. Even though the old Wacky Waters hasn't been running for 13 years, it seems like just yesterday it closed for good.

Opening in 1984, the water park was a staple of the Quad Cities. Coming through town on I-80 it was always a symbol for me to know that I was home. Since it closed in 2006 it became a grim reminder that not only was I home, but my childhood was over.

A video posted by Dana Myrick, the stairs leading to the famous water slides has finally come down. I guess all hope is lost of the water park ever coming back to life. So long, old friend.
