In November I wrote about how Knox County Sheriff Deputies, including K-9 Glock, busted a man for cannabis trafficking at the Galesburg train station. It happened again this week when Glock helped fellow Sheriff Deputies bust an Ohio man with 17.2 pounds of cannabis, 5 ounces of cannabis wax and United States Currency.

According to the Knox County Sheriff's Office, Knox County Deputies along with the Nebraska State Police received intel on a suspicious passenger aboard Amtrak's California Zephyr.

The passenger, identified as Dylan Ross Patrick, was questioned by Knox County Deputies after alighting the train and entering the Galesburg train station. Deputies during their questioning developed a reasonable suspicion that Mr. Patrick was engaged in illegal activity. When K-9 Glock sniffed Mr. Patrick's luggage the K-9 alerted positively to the luggage. Further investigation revealed the drugs the man was transporting. Mr. Patrick was charged with Cannabis trafficking over 5000 grams and manufacture/delivery of Cannabis over 5000 grams.

I don't know a lot about Galesburg, but it would seem like if you're using Amtrak to transport your dope, Galesburg isn't the town to switch modes of transportation in to continue your drug running journey. According to the Register-Mail, Galesburg Police and The Knox County Sheriff have been running drug interdiction at the train station for a decade. Apparently no one's telling the dope dealers, or perhaps pot is such big business these days it's just worth the risk.

I'm not a betting man, but if I was I'd bet on the Knox Couty Sheriff's Office every time. Between K-9's Glock and Jury, and the department's detectives and deputies they've seized over 44 pounds of cannabis and five ounces of cannabis wax in the past two weeks. The total street value of all the seizures is $176,000.00. Well done!
