Johnny Depp Paints “Friends & Heroes” and Pulls in $3.5 Million
I'm so glad I am not burdened with talent.
I'm happy that I am mediocre at most things. It sets the bar low, so when I do somewhat well, it seems like I really blow it out of the park.
Imagine having to decide whether you're going to star in next summer's blockbuster movie or go on tour playing guitar with Jeff Beck, and Alice Cooper.
That would be a tough one.
Especially since you wouldn't want to let Joe Perry down. So, maybe instead of all of that, you decided to pick up the paint brush and do portraits of your famous friends and earn a couple million.
According to WCPO.com, "Actor Johnny Depp raked in over $3 million in just hours after announcing the sale of various pieces of his artwork on Instagram, with a gallery facilitating the sale of the pieces."
Pocket change to Johnny Depp.
He probably ended up giving it to charity. (which is different than pledging it, I'm told).
Yes, the multitalented man who gave us so many quotes over the past year such as:
"Isn't Happy Hour Any Time?"
"I have other uses for your throat which does not include injury"
And who could foget the term...
"Dropped a Grumpy"
Now he is painting million-dollar paintings.
The promo video below shows the pieces alongs side Hollywood Vampires (featuring Alice Cooper & Johnny Depp) doing David Bowie's "Heroes".
