Sewer Construction Forces Road Closure In Moline
If I wrote an article for every time a road was being closed in the Quad Cities because of construction, our homepage would have more orange than the streets do now. The latest road closure is coming to Moline next week but the work being done on this road is going to take a little more time than other projects.
The City of Moline announced that the intersection of 48th Street and 49th Avenue will be closing down next week and a portion of 48th Street will be closed to through traffic so workers can do sewer construction.
Unfortunately, work like this isn't done in a day. You'll need to find a detour around the road closure until at least August.
Road Closures Start Monday In Moline
In a social media post on Thursday, officials from the City of Moline announced that the intersection of 48th Street and 49th Avenue is closing effective Monday, June 12 for ongoing sewer work in the Heritage Subdivision.
48th Street will be closed to through traffic from 46th Avenue to 49th Avenue while construction is ongoing.
A detour route will be effective during the duration of the road work. Make sure you follow the signs and take it slow when you get close to construction sites and road crews.
The City of Moline encourages motorists to plan ahead and use an alternate route. Expect to get friendly with that route because the expected completion date for the project in August. Is that early August, mid-August, or late August? Who knows but we know August is a little while away.
