Beloved Ice Cream Chain Announces New Eastern Iowa Location

More ice cream opportunities for the Quad Cities!

If you live in the QCA, you know that a lot of stuff has been moving out towards the TBK Sports Complex off of I-80.

It has not been unusual to hear about new stuff moving out into that quick-growing area. Earlier this year, UnityPoint Health-Trinity announced that they bought 40 acres of land in northeast Bettendorf.

ORA Orthopedics announced a $50 million orthopedic clinic right next to the BettPlex.

It seems like there's always new stuff opening around TBK and now, there's something sweet heading there.

Whitey's Ice Cream has announced an additional Bettendorf location, and you guessed it, it's only a mile from TBK. Here are the renderings they have for it:

Whitey's already has a location in Bettendorf, on Middle Road, which the company didn't mention closing. This new one will have a drive-thru and will be at the corner of Forest Grove Drive and Devils Glen Road, in the new Glen Grove development.

As far as ice cream options around TBK, N7 Nitrogen Ice Cream was open on Competition Drive, though it's now listed as 'temporarily closed' on Google. Cookies & Dreams is also in the BettPlex area.

Besides seasonal and classic ice cream flavors, Whitey's menu also features shakes and malts, pup cups, dairy-free ice cream dips, sundaes, Bostons (a shake with a sundae on top), sodas and floats, freezes, novelty items, and pre-packaged ice creams.
