Beef, Pork, Goat Recall Impacts Iowa, Illinois, and Wisconsin

Over 150,000 pounds of raw pork, beef, and goat products have been recalled nationwide in yet another blow to the American food industry. This recall impacts the entire country, including Iowa, Illinois, and Wisconsin.

Star Meat Delivery Inc. is recalling about 167,639 pounds of raw pork, beef, and goat products due to the fact they were produced without federal inspection. Instead, they were packaged with a false USDA inspection mark, per the U.S. Department of Agriculture.

Details About the Ongoing Pork, Beef, and Goat Recall:

Based in Lucama, NC, Star Meat Delivery Inc. distributed the plethora of now-recalled products in bulk to a Georgia distributor responsible for shipping them to retail stores and restaurants across the country. The recalled products include:

• Ground pork
• Chorizo
• Pork chops
• Pork ribs
• Pork feet
• Beef ribs
• Oxtail
• Goat cuts

This is a Class I recall, per KCCI, which is the most serious designation. Consumers are implored not to eat products bearing the establishment number "EST. 1363," for that number does not correspond to a federally inspected facility. The USDA considers these products "misbranded and unsafe."
