Travelling Iowa Military Display Shows Soldiers In Full Through The Years
A traveling display currently in Waverly, Iowa may be the most comprehensive collection of every era of United States soldiers.
For this Veteran's Day, Frank Wilkens will have his display set up at the Waverly Area Veteran's Post until noon, showing what gear every soldier from World War I all the way through the years to today.
"It's everything, all the way down to the right toothbrush," he said of the twenty mannequins dressed in their full gear.
Frank's display was invited to be a part of the traveling Vietnam War Memorial Wall in Sumner.
Frank's display is open until noon at the WAVP in Waverly (1300 4th Street NW, Waverly, IA).
At 10:30, the WSR Band will perform for the attending veterans, with a Veteran's Day program taking place at 11am. Following the program, a luncheon will take place inside the Veteran's Post.
