Iowa State Treasurer Needs to Give Away $8 Million
It's always a great day to be an Iowan, but today might just be better than the rest. The State Treasurer might have a chunk of money to give you.
A class-action lawsuit in Des Moines resulted in $11 million to be returned to the citizens of Iowa. So far only a small fraction of the people owed money have claimed it.
Now, State Treasurer Michael Fitzgerald has just about six months to get rid of the remaining $8,000,000. If the money goes unclaimed by April 2019, it all goes to the city of Des Moines.
If you want to check to see if there's any money owed to you, go to the Great Iowa Treasure Hunt website. Just put your name in and if you have anything owed, you can make a claim.
